Meet our Senior Leadership

Ron Books, President & CEO

ECi CEO Ron BooksRon Books joined the Company in late 1999 and was promoted to President of the division in 2000 before successfully selling that business unit in 2001. Ron then served as Vice President of Sales before being promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations in 2004 and then Chief Operating Officer in 2006. He was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in early 2009. As CEO, Ron is responsible for the strategic direction and vision of ECi.

Prior to ECi, Ron was with Lucent Technologies and also served in the Clinton administration. Ron has a Bachelor of Business degree in Accounting from the University of Dayton.

Trevor Gruenewald, Chief Operating Officer

Trevor Gruenewald, COO

Trevor Gruenewald joined ECi Software Solutions in January 2009 and is supporting the organization as Chief Operating Officer. As COO, Trevor is responsible for each of the ECi business units including manufacturing, office products, business equipment, contract furniture, janitorial/sanitation, lumber and building materials, and hardware. He is also responsible for ECi’s cross vertical surround products in e-commerce, supplier communications, mobile applications and managed print services. In addition, Trevor is the executive in charge of a number of ECi corporate functions including professional services, product development and QA, training, and implementation and documentation. In his role, he devotes a significant amount of time to being in the field with customers, partners and suppliers to strengthen and grow these relationships.

Trevor came to ECi from Avaya where he was most recently the Vice President for the North American Small and Medium Enterprise (SME) business. Previously, he held various sales, channels and operational leadership roles within Avaya, Lucent and AT&T, and has over 20 years’ experience in technology and technology services with those companies. Trevor holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Management and Finance from Purdue University where he was also an Academic All American for the baseball team. Trevor is married and has four children. He spends his spare time coaching youth baseball, football and basketball, and is involved in a number of ministries at Good Shepherd Catholic Church.

Glenn Etherington, Chief Financial Officer

Glenn Etherington, CFO

Glenn Etherington joined the Company in July 2007 as Chief Financial Officer, responsible for all accounting and finance, human resources, and information technology. Prior to joining ECI, Glenn was Chief Financial Officer of MetaSolv Software, until its sale to Oracle Corporation in December 2006. MetaSolv was a publicly traded software company focused on selling software solutions to the telecommunications market. Glenn brings more than 20 years’ experience as Chief Financial Officer of publicly traded software and technology companies and has extensive experience in revenue recognition for software companies, mergers and acquisitions, and SEC reporting. He received a BBA from Wichita State University in Kansas with an emphasis in accounting. He passed the CPA exam in 1979.

Grant Howe, Chief Technology Officer

Grant Howe, CTOGrant Howe joined ECi as Chief Technology Officer in April of 2015. Howe brings more than 21 years of product development and management experience to ECi. He has served as a senior technology executive in the areas of research, development and engineering with companies such as Abila, Sage Group, LLC,, and NetIQ. During his tenures at those companies, he built domestic and international engineering teams, drove structured and agile software development, managed product suite planning and direction, and helped define, develop and deliver mobile and cloud-based products. Grant is responsible for product/technology strategy and execution across the ECi family of companies and leads all strategic initiatives addressing ECi's next generation product offerings, common technologies and platforms, as well as development processes and standards.

Grant holds a master’s degree in Software Engineering from Syracuse University and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from State University of New York College at Oswego.

Mike Gibson, Senior Vice President, Global Sales & Marketing

Mike Gibson, SVP Global Sales

Mike Gibson joined ECi Software Solutions in August of 2008 as Senior VP of Global Sales and Marketing. Before coming to ECi, Mike served as SVP of Worldwide Sales and Business Development at Vurv Technology, located in Jacksonville, Florida. Before that, he was a Director at Dell in Austin, Texas, responsible for their Middle Market Division, after previously serving as Managing Director of Dell Australia and New Zealand. He holds a BS in Business Administration and Marketing from Western Connecticut University. Mike, a certified pilot, also enjoys flying, golfing, cycling, running, playing basketball, racing cars, and riding motorcycles.

David Lipetz, Senior Vice President, Corporate Development

David Lipetz, SVP corporate DevelopmentDavid Lipetz joined the Company in 1999 as Director of Marketing and was subsequently promoted to Vice President in 2002. In 2005, David took responsibility for Corporate Development and was promoted to Senior Vice President in January 2006.

David is responsible for the Company’s acquisition strategy and is a member of its Senior Leadership Team. Prior to ECi Software Solutions, David was employed for 15 years by ENTEX Information Services, his last position being Director of Marketing.

Traci Johnson, Senior Vice President, Global Corporate Marketing

Traci Johnson, SVP Global Corporate Marketing

Traci joined DDMS in January of 1989. From 1989 to 1999, she held various leadership positions, including Senior Trainer, Training Manager and Customer Service Manager. ECi acquired DDMS in 2000. From that time until 2006, Traci was Vice President of DDMS, responsible for Quality Assurance, Project Management and Training. In 2006, ECi acquired Britannia. Traci was promoted to President of Britannia and was responsible for the successful integration into the ECi family. In early 2009, she was promoted to SVP, Global Corporate Marketing, responsible for overseeing the ECi global brand messaging as well as managing day-to-day marketing activities for each of the ECi companies. Traci has a Bachelor of Business degree in Business Management with a double minor in Speech Communications and Psychology from Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

Gordon P. Kushner, Senior Vice President, General Counsel & Secretary

Gordon Kushner, VP and General CounselGordon Kushner has been responsible for worldwide legal affairs for the Company since 2004. In his role, he oversees all legal matters for the Company, with particular focus on compliance, technology licensing, acquisitions and strategic relationships. Prior to joining ECi, Gordon was Vice President and General Counsel of the Platform for Media, Inc., a venture-backed, digital-media-technology company that was acquired by Comcast Interactive Media, and Chief Intellectual Property Counsel for Baan N.V., based in the Netherlands. Gordon has also served as Senior Corporate Counsel for Structural Dynamics Research Corporation and began his legal career in the corporate department of Dinsmore & Shohl, based in Cincinnati. Gordon has a Bachelor’s degree in Communications from the University of North Dakota and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Dayton.

Tom Gerrity, Senior Vice President, Operations

Tom Gerrity, SVP OperationsTom Gerrity was hired as the CFO for DDMS in 1999. DDMS was acquired by ECi Software Solutions (ECi) in 2000 and Tom was made CFO of ECi in 2004. Tom led financing efforts in the acquisitions of Team Design, Britannia, OMD, Advantage, eBuzz and La Crosse. In addition, he secured financing with Capital Source for the acquisition of ECi by Insight Venture Partners. In 2007, he became SVP of Operations and rolled out one WAN for the company, moved the hosting center from Virginia to Texas, virtualized all hosted solutions and improved performance and availability. Before coming to ECi, Tom served as Accounting Manager for Entenmann’s/Oroweat (a division of Kraft/Phillip Morris) and CFO for TranSpec Fasteners. He holds a BBA in Accounting from Texas A&M University and is a CPA (Texas). Tom is also a member of the Northwest Optimist Club, an association dedicated to youth issues in the community.

Vicki Farris, Senior Vice President, Finance

Vicki Farris, SVP FinanceVicki Farris has more than 20 years’ experience in a Vice President- Finance or CFO role for both publicly and privately held companies. Before joining ECi she was VP, Finance, at Homeland Healthcare, a $100 million third party administrator in the insurance industry. During her tenure, Homeland was ranked in the top 10 fastest growing companies in the DFW area three years in a row. Prior to Homeland, she was a Partner at Tatum LLC, an executive services firm providing Interim Financial Leadership. While at Tatum, Vicki served as Interim CFO for Compliance Depot, an emerging company, Interim Controller for, a $2 billion travel company, and managed various interim roles and projects including system implementations (Oracle, PeopleSoft), process re-engineering and restructuring projects. Vicki earned her BS Degree in Accounting from Kansas State University, and is a member of the Finance Advisory Board for the KSU College of Business.

Andrew Pryor, Vice President, Human Resources

Andrew Pryor, VP Human ResourcesAndrew joined ECi as Vice President of Human Resources in 2015. He brings more than 29 years of experience in the field of Human Resources. Andrew most recently served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Anthelio Healthcare in Dallas. Prior to Anthelio, Andrew served as Vice President of Human Resources for BerylHealth and as Senior Business Partner to Bell Helicopter’s Engineering Division where he was responsible for the HR Team, attending to 2,600 Aero-Space Engineers engaged in the design of battleship helicopters. He also worked at Nokia Mobile Phones serving as the Senior Human Resource Manager.

Upon graduating from The University of Texas at Arlington, Andrew was named a White House Intern by President George H. W. Bush. During his time at The White House, Andrew worked on the President’s Thousand Points of Light project.

Andrew’s passion is utilizing the platform of HR to help employees build strong careers for themselves and, in return, better lives for their families. In 2012, he co-authored the book SMILE GUIDE – Employee Perspectives on Culture, Loyalty and Profit. Andrew is a past president of the Society for Human Resources Management’s Fort Worth Chapter and has served for the past nine years on the Advisory Board of Directors for the University of Texas at Arlington School of Business.

Andrew married his college sweetheart, Amy. They have two children, Chloe and Elijah, and two awesome rescue dogs, Chris and Thomas.
