Alora Works for Complexus Medical with Unexpected Results
President of Complexus Medical, Michael Behrens, saw the 2019 pandemic slowdown as an opportunity to take the company forward fast with Alora, a manufacturing intelligence solution.
“With Alora, we now can understand when a machine can absorb more capacity. Instead of a new machine, we might need to add a person, or two, or move someone to another shift. Alora has saved us from a machine purchase in two areas,” explains Behrens. “We’re talking a six-figure sum of money that we didn’t have to spend on another piece of equipment. That’s incredibly impactful.”
And with one operator often running more than one machine, the manufacturer was very efficient—more than 100%. What was eye-opening for many in the shop was the realization, through Alora, that Complexus was sub-50% utilized in most areas.
