Lasso’s OSC of the Month for June is Lindsay Price, New Home Advisor at Eagle Construction based in Richmond, Virginia. In this interview, Lindsay shares her path to becoming an OSC, how she sees the role evolving, and her productivity tip!
What was your career path to becoming an OSC?
I have been at Eagle for 5 wonderful years. Before I came to Eagle, I worked on the mortgage side of things and knew that I wanted to get out from behind the desk and help people pick out their home versus finance it! My husband and I ended up buying an Eagle home so that is where I started looking for a career since we loved our home so much. I walked into our Design Center and knew that I wanted to be on the Eagle Team and the rest is history! I started on-site as a Sales Associate and ended up working in 7 different Eagle communities. With the knowledge I gained throughout my time in each community, and Eagle’s dominating industry growth, it was time to take the New Home Advisor role head on and bring our brand to the next level.
How many online leads do you manage monthly?
Currently, I manage on average 250 online leads plus all incoming phone calls/chats.
How have you seen online home sales change in the last few years?
What an incredible market we have been in! In my opinion, re-sales have been an easy go-to in the past, but with the inventory being so low and buyers leaning into new construction, we have the ability to capture buyers that wouldn’t have normally considered building new. In fact, many Realtors come to me first!
“Lindsay is doing an amazing job and has just finished up her first full year in the online sales role. She contributed 36% of all of our sales last year and has hit the ground running in 2022 having already set over 300 appointments for this year! She is so passionate about what she does and truly enjoys matching our online leads to the perfect community for them. She continually goes above and beyond and is a huge asset to Eagle.”

How do you see your role/or the OSC role evolving over the next few years?
I wholeheartedly believe that the OSC/NHA plays a huge role in the sales process and will only continue to grow. The market is always changing, growing, evolving and so are we! With the shift in the market, it will free up some time to go back to the fundamentals of nurturing and cultivating leads all while incorporating new technologies into the role.
What are the most important technology(s)/tool(s) you use in your role?
The most challenging part to me, much like most OSC’s/NHA’s, is learning to turn it off and disconnect. Working from home is such an incredible part of my job, but living where you work and working where you live prevents you from easily setting boundaries. I have learned over time that being able to disconnect and recharge gives me the opportunity to be the best New Home Advisor for myself and for my team.
What is your “go to” closing technique to get an appointment?
Once I have identified the best Eagle community for them, I just automatically assume they want to meet with our incredible team! I phrase it by asking what day/time is most convenient for them, and from there we set it up! At the end of the day, I genuinely believe that our quality and craftsmanship, our company values, and our teams in each department is the best of the best.
What/Who are your “go-to” resources for training and/or support?
First and foremost, Jen Barken and Mike Lyon with Do You Convert and the incredible team that I connected with in the Online Sales Academy that I attended in 2020. I tune into many webinars that are relevant to my job, and new home construction in general. It is also very important to me to make connections and maintain relationships with local friends in the industry. Lastly, I listen to many podcasts.
Do you have a productivity hack you’d like to share?
Consistency is key in this role and for me. At the beginning of my working day, just prior to my working hours, I respond to all unanswered emails, any outstanding voicemails, and tackle my tasks in Lasso. Being caught up at the beginning of the day allows me to be available to all new incoming leads/chats. I also have reminders set in Outlook to keep me organized.
Do you have any specific successes you’d like to highlight?
This year I was honored to receive Online Sales Counselor of the Year (101+ homes) from the Home Building Association of Richmond!
Any tips or advice for fellow online salespeople and marketers?
My biggest piece of advice is to constantly build and nurture the relationships you have with the on-site team—they are such an incredible resource, and as we say here at Eagle—we win together as a team!
What are your favorite activities to do outside of work?
I am a proud travel soccer mom to the coolest kid I know, dog mom to 2 doodles who are basically human, and a wife to my best friend in the entire world. Together, the 5 of us live life to the fullest. If we are not at the soccer field, we are doing home projects, traveling, exploring the city of Richmond and all the hidden gems, drinking coffee and driving fun cars! We watch Christmas movies year-round, never miss a Washington Capitals or Commanders game, and never miss an opportunity to try out a new brunch spot.
