Digital natives (millennials and Gen Z) are transitioning towards the lead generations taking over the workforce. As talent shortages continue, manufacturers must understand and adapt to the new technology expectations of generations entering the industry.
These digital native workers expect an intuitive, engaging, easy-to-use manufacturing ERP, and many will not settle for anything less. More than a decade ago (2011), PwC showed that 59% of millennials think that state-of-the-art technology is an important consideration when looking for a job.
Technologies your company previously used may not live up to the standards of digital natives. You are responsible for providing the best technologies for your employees with the training necessary to maximize potential usage.
With new technology comes upskilling or reskilling employees. Although most managers believe reskilling is important, they’re not actually ready to do so.
With many manufacturing jobs unfilled, manufacturers cannot afford to wait and see what happens. Take a proactive approach in deploying new workshop software technology that will attract workers now and in the future.
