In this blog, we feature Jordan Douthit, project manager for Bolt at ECI Software Solutions. We sat down with Jordan to learn more about her role within the team.
Jordan Douthit (JD): As a project manager, I lead client onboarding and oversee training and implementation to meet business goals within deadlines. I also support Implementation Specialists on complex projects, offering solutions for smooth execution.
JD: Industrial distribution at Texas A&M.
JD: I started in the electrical distribution business, focusing on enhancing the customer experience through technology solutions, such as online ordering platforms and warehouse management systems. In 2019, a friend introduced me to Bolt. I was intrigued - I had not seen this type of solution in our industry. Shortly after, I became part of the Bolt team. My responsibilities spanned from onboarding new clients and establishing a support process and self-help resources to actively participating in feature testing and shaping the product roadmap. Since then, I've been involved in nurturing the growth of our software alongside our valued customers. Witnessing the tangible difference Bolt has made in their professional and personal lives has been very fulfilling. Not only has it revolutionized their business operations, but it has also afforded them precious time previously consumed by mundane tasks.
JD: As a project manager, I spend the day meeting with customers to ensure the project is on track and collaborating on solutions with my team.
JD: "Seek first to understand, then to be understood," - Stephen Covey
JD: What excites me most about working within this industry is the opportunity to engage with people and their unique stories. Every client we serve has a distinct journey, often starting as small family-owned businesses. Learning about their evolution and the challenges they've overcome to expand their businesses is interesting. Contributing to their growth and success is incredibly rewarding, knowing that our efforts are part of their journey toward achieving their goals.
JD: The most challenging aspect of working in this industry is the dynamic nature of each trade and region we serve. Every trade has unique hurdles to overcome, and each region presents different regulations and types of work. Adapting to various needs and nuances keeps me on my toes.
JD: I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends when I'm not working. We like to explore the outdoors, bake, and play games.
JD: If you enjoy fiction, I recommend "A Court of Thorns and Roses" series by Sarah J. Mass.
