The labor shortage is one of the biggest challenges in the industry so it is important to encourage training and development, while also leveraging modern technology to help get more skilled workers into the workforce. That said, we're excited to share that we are now a partner of the Home Builders Institute (HBI) to support the training and experience necessary to create successful professionals in the building industry.
We strongly believe that by sponsoring HBI and helping incoming workers to understand the power of adopting technology to manage business, we can help contribute to closing the skills gap.
HBI’s mission is to change lives everyday by educating, inspiring, and preparing individuals for careers in the building industry. Through pre-apprenticeship training, certification programs and job placement services, HBI provides graduates—high school students, at-promise youth, veterans, transitioning military personnel, justice-involved youth and adults, and displaced workers—with the skills and experience they need to build a career in residential construction.
In a recent interview at IBS, Ed Brady, CEO of HBI, talked about their first BuildStrong Academy and their plans to open up five more academies in New Orleans, Huston, Phoenix, Sacramento and Charlotte by the end of the year.
