The MYOB JobBOSS² integration is an impactful customer-focused initiative to help MYOB and JobBOSS² users benefit from an end-to-end solution streamlining their financial and shop floor data.
For this piece, we interviewed Liam Merrick, an ERP expert from Australia with in-depth knowledge and experience in the manufacturing industry. We sought his thoughts on our latest integration with MYOB.
Liam Merrick: So my name's Liam Merrick. I've been with ECI for 20 years and all that time I've been implementing software solutions ERP. I love supporting small businesses in the manufacturing space. I just moved to the sales engineering space but am excited to transfer my existing skills to now helping customers understand our solution benefits on the front end.
Liam Merrick: There’s plenty of potential for the JobBOSS² solution. We’re well into the 21st century, but there's a lot of job shops that are still managing things by paper. Sometimes they feel like they're really not in control of things that they don't have the information that they require to make good decisions or to be able to manage their customers and their supply chain. What I’ve seen is the difficulty for these job shops to choose the right product. They need something not too big and heavy. And those that do embrace the right software are very, very happy with the end result at the end of the day.
Liam Merrick: Everyone starts with the financial system and they can get to a point where they need to manage the data of the supply chain, procurement, inventory, and production. MYOB is very good at bookkeeping and maintaining financials, but most of the job shop customers that have come to us are looking for more than just that financial package and that's where JobBOSS² comes in.
Liam Merrick: Well, I’m excited to help this job shop market. Especially, since they just came out of COVID and there's a number of businesses that haven't survived. That event has provided opportunities for other businesses, and when job shops see their competitors not making it through, it puts the spotlight on them to do something. This is when they start to realise that to be informed upfront and earlier and can help enable a business owner or managers to make really good, effective decisions that ultimately result in the longevity of the business. With the data they need, they learn not to succumb to external pressures that come along in a business environment. I really do urge a lot of businesses to not put off investing in an ERP. We want to see each job shop survive and thrive, and ERPs help.
Liam Merrick: One of my last implementations was very successful. When we implemented their products they were extremely pleased, especially the production manager who I work closely with and he was just really very, very happy that he could get his hands on information that he never had before. He is in more control of his human resources and managing the shop. He was very excited about the in-depth inventory control. His whole team is able to work together and share information in a centralised solution instead of running around and trying to figure things out. At the end of the day, they can now see the profitability of each job.
Liam Merrick: Well, at ECI, we're all about our relationship with our customer. We start the relationship off with a product that fits their needs. That's only the beginning of our journey. We always like to keep in touch and grow with them.
