Merchants to benefit from the BMF's new apprentice scheme

The Builders Merchants Federation (BMF) has teamed up with Apprenticeship Management Group to launch a new level three apprenticeship. The Level 3 Team Leader Supervisor apprenticeship will support those taking the initial step to becoming a manager, or for those who have recently been appointed to a junior management role.

The course will be delivered virtually through tutor-led classes and workplace learning, with all resources available online. It will see the apprentice take on extra responsibilities such as project management or leading a team.

John Henry, Apprenticeship Management Group Director, said: “Those successfully completing the apprenticeship will receive the Certificate in Merchant Management. To be involved in creating a programme has been great for the company. Carmen, who works with the BMF for us, has been fantastic in getting this over the line over a lockdown. Hopefully we can now roll this out successfully.”

The apprenticeship is only available in England and the course fee may be covered by the Apprenticeship Levy or Government Apprenticeship Funds.
