MKM Building Supplies expands in Scotland with Spey Valley acquisition

MKM Building Supplies, the UK’s largest independent builders merchant, has purchased Spey Valley Timber & Builders Merchants. This acquisition follows a period of significant growth in Scotland for MKM, with the business having unveiled a new branch in Inverness last month, and one planned for Peterhead next month. The addition of Spey Valley grows MKM’s Scottish network to 17 branches.

Spey Valley Timber & Builders Merchants was founded in the 1980s and is a locally owned independent business that supplies building materials, equipment and accessories to tradespeople throughout Aviemore and the wider Scottish Highlands. MKM’s acquisition will ensure customers in the region will still have access to an independent merchant, whilst benefitting from MKM’s product range and commitment to providing excellent service.
