ECI Software Solutions, a leader in cloud-based business management solutions, and Simpson Strong-Tie, the leader in engineered structural connectors and building solutions, today announced an improved workflow between ECI’s MarkSystems® ERP and Simpson Strong-Tie’s BIM Pipeline. By creating synergies between the platforms, ECI and Simpson Strong-Tie will make it easier for residential builders to forecast materials requirements and reduce variances and project times, ultimately helping them to drive down costs.
BIM Pipeline is a web-based material management and estimation system that helps home builders increase net margins and scale operations without adding staff—all while reducing cycle times and getting homes up faster. The software’s cloud estimation tool improves option and takeoff management by taking exact measurements that quantify the total materials required to finish a project. By coordinating with MarkSystems, users will be able to import this data directly into their ERP systems to submit more accurate purchase orders easier and faster than ever before. Not only does this provide builders with more detailed insights on materials, but it also significantly reduces cycle times and variances. MarkSystems can now accept job-specific takeoffs from BIM Pipeline, bringing in brand new functionality that will significantly reduce the time associated with managing one-off projects.
“ECI customers have long used BIM Pipeline to address problems related to inaccurate material estimation – such as increased manual effort, variances and cycle times,” said Scott Duman, President, Residential Home Construction Group, Building & Construction Division at ECI. “Formalizing those capabilities into an easy to use workflow with MarkSystems will make life easier for our customers and create a relationship that will extend value to the entire residential construction industry.”
“We’re confident that this new workflow with ECI’s MarkSystems will deliver next-level insights and operational efficiencies to residential builders and developers,” said Scott Lang, Sales Manager – Regional Builders at Simpson Strong-Tie. “Our platform has helped countless users reduce variances and save costs when building houses. By incorporating those capabilities into a platform like MarkSystems, those results will be magnified and even more achievable.”
