Advanced Bill of Materials with M1
The tools to help you easily manage multi-level assembly
Our M1 Advanced Bill of Materials (BOM) module allows you to control your revisions, create engineering change requests, and assign and track serial numbers. It enables you to find, replace, and modify multiple bills easily and even roll up your costs!
Revision Control is one of the most valuable aspects of our M1 Advanced Bill of Materials functionality.
- Levels can be numeric, alphanumeric, or any formula that works in your business process
- Revision levels are controlled with effective start and end dates.
- Each part ID may have multiple revisions, which show in the grid on the entry screen.
- Different revisions can live in different Inventory Locations.
- Different revisions can support different operations and materials.
- Different revisions can support different costs and transaction history.
- Different revisions can have different prices.
- Different revisions can support different descriptions.
- Revision searches show the quantity on hand and allocated for each revision, so you can keep track of all variations.
- The Part Advisors show information for all revisions for a given part, so all the information you need is readily available.
More Advanced Bill of Materials features:
Find & Replace
Replace all incidents of a part with another part in the part master file so you can quickly and effectively management of engineering changes.
Change Requests
Manage and authorised for parts and jobs based on engineering change requests. Prototypes can be created and managed via this mechanism, along with changes to jobs/parts in progress.
Lot Number Tracking
Specify if a material should be lot tracked as it is receipted into the business, issued to jobs, and moved in and out of inspection. For finished goods, when the part is lot tracked, it will move into stock or get shipped with a lot number along with any subsequent quality transactions.
Serial Number Tracking
Specify if a part is to be serialised and tracked as it is receipted, issued to jobs, or shipped to customers. You can also specify a formula for the construction of a serial number to have the system create more meaningful serial numbers.
Lot/Serial Number Explorer
See various information about the lot/serial number, including when it was created, what job, or receipt created it, what job issue, or shipment used it, and what the status of the lot/serial number is. Lot/serial numbers can be stored and viewed in multiple locations against multiple revisions.
Standard Cost Roll-ups
Update a single revision or product group costs in the inventory file while also rolling up all labour, subcontract, material, and overhead costs. You can also update selling prices with the click of a button (based on the rolled-up cost + markup/margin).
