Established in 1937, K&G Manufacturing is a high-quality CNC manufacturer committed to unmatched quality at a competitive price. The shop is located just outside of Minneapolis in Faribault, Minnesota. K&G Manufacturing works across many industries, including aerospace, marine, medical devices, heavy equipment, and defense. Because of its involvement in these industries, it is required to be ISO9000 and AS9100 compliant.

Working across multiple industries means that K & G Manufacturing must comply with several regulations—and with regulations comes auditing. Eric Gustafson, former chief operating officer (recently retired), had been with K & G Manufacturing for 36 years has seen how audits can plague the shop. “I can tell you that I used to lay awake at night worrying about the upcoming audits because he was going to ask for something, and I would have to think about where it was,” Eric explains. Job tracking was done across several spreadsheets, customer forms were varied, and information was often siloed. Eric knew these outdated practices would only hurt K & G Manufacturing in the long run.

After a head-to-head comparison, K & G Manufacturing actually implemented two ERP solutions to help them but ultimately decided JobBOSS was their saving grace. K & G Manufacturing has been a JobBOSS customer since 2000 and recently added uniPoint to their toolbelt.

With JobBOSS and uniPoint by their side, the dread of audits was alleviated. “Having the data all in one place is very comforting; makes me sleep better at night. And well, that’s priceless,” Eric comments. With seamless integration, audits are running smoother, and the entire shop has benefited. Document control that was once separated and siloed is now accessible to anyone across the shop in one location. Repeat tasks due to lack of communication and visibility have disappeared. Training and onboarding documents that were once hidden away are now readily available for auditors

Eric attests his success to a fellow co-worker named Ron. “He was the one who said, ‘Hey, get uniPoint.’ He pushed me into it. I was not a fan, but hey, I am now! I’m a raving fan! I’m almost a fanatic,” says Eric.
